Mojo’s Limping Problems
Recently, Mojo had difficulty getting up and about after a period of time at rest. At first, I had thought that it was his leg falling asleep but after a week or two I became concerned and took him to the vet.
After a cursory inspection of his remaining hind leg the vet could not determine if there was an injury to his remaining hind leg, however, being a Tripawd, you can’t really tell if he is limping or not. So the vet prescribed the following:
I already had him on Glucosamine and to continue that.
He was prescribed a half tablet of DeraMaxx 75mg (Deracoxib) as an anti-inflammatory for 2 weeks time.
Also suggested 1000mg of Fish Oil.
So far, so good! He’s quick to get back up and his hind leg does not seem to bother him.
how scary for you guys!!! great that the vet could evaluate him and prescribe some anti-infammatories to help. hope this is just a bump in the road, and you guys have a long and happy future ahead.

So glad to hear that he’s doing better. I know all too well that panic that sets in when you think they’ve injured one of those precious remaining legs! Good luck!
Roxy was diagnosed with arthritis in her back leg over the summer. It is frightening when they have trouble getting up. All you think is their quality of life is failing and worry about a worse decline. When it flares up she’s on prednisone and it really helps as an anti inflammatory. Hopefully this regimen continues to work for you all and bring mojo relief.
Roman started to have the same problem right after some intense play on Christmas day and then lazing around the day after, he whimpered and wouldn’t put weight on his left back leg. X-rays last week confirmed arthritis in both hips:( Better than more cancer though.
So glad to hear he is doing better! Hope he continues to do well!
